A poem to go by…

The stock market is crashing down, crashing down.

I don’t know when it's gonna come around, come around.

The stock market is crashing down, crashing down.

I don’t know when it’s gonna come around, come around.

Market sentiments wore down, wore down.

Investor sentiments tumbled down, tumbled down.

Media houses played the same old song — that the market has tanked, that the market has tanked.

Market sentiments wore me down, wore me down.

My vision narrowed down, narrowed down.

Oh, these sentiments tore me down, tore me down.

Thinking I would get a hefty sum to this time around;

The market played me down, played me down.

The market looked bullish a while ago, now it has become bearish.

Since I didn’t pull on time, all my stocks wore me down.

Thinking I would get a hefty sum to this time around;

The market played me down, played me down.

Getting crickets was not in my plan. Remember guys, don’t forget to activate your stop-loss ahead in time.

Interpretation of the poem —

I wrote this story from the perspective of a rookie trader. The main protagonist is a man. The guy had just started trading, hoping to earn a few bucks. He thought he would earn a decent amount just by starting out. The story takes place 8 months ago from the actual timeline. The market was really volatile (high fuel and food prices, soaring interest rates with high inflation) when he entered the market. He had bought stocks he thought were good for quick money. He bought many such stocks all in one go. When the market turned bearish (it was a terrible time to hold all stocks with him and not sell them in the market), he didn’t sell his stocks. The stock price went down from four digits to one digit. He suffered a hefty loss.

A Little About Market — -

In a bullish market, the price of stocks goes up. So, either you can buy more stocks or you can hold the old stocks. That’s what you can do in a bullish market.

Usually, in a bearish market, the price of stocks goes down. So, you buy stocks or sell stocks whose prices have decreased. Cause they are really cheap then.

And use stop-loss. It's a device to prevent you from being at a loss. So, you sell or buy stocks before it reaches a certain price. But don’t do a risky trade like this guy.

So, what did you learn from this guy?

1. Don’t go after getting rich quick schemes.

2. Even if you go after them, learn to have patience.

3. Do your homework well before you enter any game.

Keywords — Bullish market, bearish market, stop-loss, volatility, and market sentiments.

What are your thoughts on this? Let me know, I would love to hear your thoughts on this poem.
