7 Tips for Writing good Quality Emails

Tip 1: A killer subject line is half the battle. Your email can’t convert if no one clicks on it. 80% of readers skim through their inboxes. Make your subject line stand out by keeping it short, punchy and to the point.

Tip 2: Make it visually appealing. Our brains process visual information 60,000x faster than text! Simple images and a compelling CTA are the difference between an email that gets opened, and an email that gets readers to buy.

Tip 3: Don’t waste your reader’s time. Readers lose interest with each passing sentence. Get to the point, and get there fast.

Tip 4: Make it a no-brainer: give value before you ask for it. Readers should get a ton of value from your product before they have to upgrade or purchase. Send emails that: - Educate the user - Set them up for success - Increase their usage Before you ask them to pay you.

Tip 5: Get the balance right. Send too many emails and users will stop reading them / mark them as spam. Send too few emails and you’re leaving money on the table. Understand what works and get the balance right.

Tip 6: Bring users back with timely and relevant reminders. Users forget about your product the moment they stop using it. Email isn’t just a channel, it’s an extension of your product. Understand how frequently users need your product and time your emails accordingly.

Tip 7: Make it a habit to A/B test. Every successful email campaign starts as a dud. It takes time, measurement, and consistent iteration to create emails that are read by millions.

Agree with punchy subject lines, but I also think there’s something to be said for being direct/to the point. I’ve found that sometimes for B2B audiences, being clear almost always beats being clever
